Hi, I’m Janet.
My passion is in supporting families as they make their journey into parenthood.
As we became parents, we encountered rough patches, long climbs, and a few insurmountable situations, with lack of guidance through those months of pregnancy and the experience of birth. We needed help along the way, but besides a few books, there wasn’t much out there.
Years after the birth of my own children, one of my daughters introduced me to the role of a Doula at the birth of my grandchildren and I was hooked! Since then, with the help of Doula Canada I have become trained in the principles while gaining experience in the fine and subtle art of supporting parents in labour and birth as well as in the months after your baby is born.
It’s an adventure that I never get tired of experiencing with each client that I meet.
WHAT I ENJOY
Give me a good book, and I’m in it till the last page, enjoying every word. And then I enjoy discussing it with whoever is willing to listen.
I enjoy the theatre or a concert and good company to enjoy it with.
I enjoy a good swim in a lake, ocean or pool—preferably on the warm side.
I enjoy travel, especially with my husband. Our favourite spot on earth is Hawaii.
WHO I LOVE
My family: My husband and I have four grown children who amaze and teach us every day. We have 17 (yep, 17) grandchildren in various stages of growth whom we adore and never see enough of.
My God: I’m a woman of faith. My faith is where I find the power within me to love, serve, be humble, create, learn and continue to grow.
Most people I come in contact with. Everyone I meet has an interesting tale to tell, be it happy, funny, tragic, inspiring or most likely, a combination of them all.
